Rust & Roses is a family owned business located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Since 2008, we have worked together running our IT business but we were looking for a creative outlet. So in the fall of 2016 we decided to buy our first CNC plasma table. What started in our garage has grown so much since those first days. We now offer a wide range of original designs, create custom designs with our clients and have recently expanded to offering products out of other materials like wood and acrylic.
By bringing together our love for design and technology, we are able to create unique, intriguing design pieces, one of a kind art and custom metal fabricated elements.
Barb graduated from the Graphic Design Program at St. Lawrence College in 2000. Since then she has worked in print design and as a freelance designer. More recently she started working with 3D design software and has expanded her portfolio to include web design.
Josh has always had an interest in all things metal and tech. Growing up in rural Ontario, he spend a fair bit of time working on cars with his father or helping with his neighbor's farm. He also had a natural knack for electronics and would fix the computers at school. Over the years, he worked for a number of local IT firms before starting his own company in 2007. In his free time, Josh enjoys working on cars, welding and metal fabrication.
We have a CNC plasma table which can cut steel, aluminum and stainless steel. We also have a commercial laser that can cut and engrave on other materials.
Do you provide International delivery?
At this time, we only offer shipping to Canada and the USA. International customers can place their orders through our Etsy shop or you can contact us by email if they are interested in a custom order.
How long will it take for my order to be processed?
Each item is made per order. We have a limited amount of inventory on hand. Our normally turn around time is currently 2-4 weeks from when the order is received. Depending on the circumstances and time of year, this could be shortly or longer (example. weeks leading up to Christmas and announced closures for statutory holidays). What is your returns policy on personalized items?
We do NOT accept returns, issue refunds, or exchange personalized items. If the misspelling was on our end, the product can be replaced. Please email us at email@example.com with your order number, photos of the piece, and a photo of the packing slip. If the item was damaged
What is your returns policy on non-personalized items?
If you wish to return a non-personalized products, you must email us within 3 business days of when your order was received based on the tracking information. If it has been over 3 business days, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.
The customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. The cost of shipping is non-refundable. Once your return is received, it will be inspected for any damaged and if the return is approved, a refund for the purchase price of the item will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment. Please allow 3-5 businesses depending on your account holder’s processing time. We will also send you an email showing the refund details.
My item arrived damaged. What can I do?
If your order was shipped with tracking, please make sure the driver or customer service agent at the post office/courier office notes the damage on their end. Ask if they are able to open a claim. If you sign for the item, please keep all wrapping, packaging material, invoices and the damaged item as they may be required to process the insurance claim. Without this documentation, we cannot process a claim for the damage or provide a refund for the item or shipping.
How do I track my order?
The name of the shipping company and tracking number will be sent to you once your order has shipped.
How can I contact your couriers?
You can contact the shipping company by visiting their website. Please make sure you have your tracking number when calling so they can assist you.
What are your delivery options?
We currently use Canada Post to ship our orders. If your order is going to the USA, the order will be handled by USPS once it has crossed the border.
How do I care for my bare metal items?
You can spray the item with a name-brand furniture polish. Let it sit for a bit so the oils penetrate the steel that wipe with a soft cloth. We recommend doing this on a regular basis to protect the steel.
You can also finish your item with a paint recommended for metal. Make sure the surface is clean and lightly sand off any rust. Follow the instructions from the paint manufacturer on how to properly prep the surface.
Oil products will maintain the steel if used as per manufacturers recommendations.

If you item has started to rust, there are paint products available that will convert rusted metal to a solid, protecting the piece longer.
